  does your church have
an emergency plan?
Presented on March 19, 2011 at the
Ohio Christian Education Association (OCEA) Conference
Churches are not immune to disasters. A disaster can happen at any time. Every church should have an emergency preparedness plan. This session will provide an overview of the four-phases of Emergency Management; Prevention-Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery. Emergency planning will help parishioners, administrators and clergy to understand the importance of having emergency preparedness plans at church and home and how planning affects the success and well being of those they serve.

At the end of the presentation the participants will be able to:

  1. Explain why a church should prepare for emergencies
  2. List and prepare for the types of emergencies and disasters most likely to occur in the area
  3. Develop an emergency plan
