  Creating an All Hazards Emergency Plan
  All child care providers are required to have a written plan that covers, fires, tornadoes, serious accidents and Crisis Management, including, but not limited to intruders and bomb threats.
  This is a training workshop that will take a step-by-step approach to writing an emergency plan for child care providers, including what is required to comply with state regulations and best practices offered by Homeland Security.
 

Does your emergency plan address the following?

  1. Evacuation of children and staff more than a mile away
  2. Transportation needs
  3. Alternate location for more than a day
  4. Communication with parents during an emergency
If you answered no to any of these questions, you will want to attend.
 

At the end of the training, the participants will be able to:

  • Explain why child care providers should have a disaster plan
  • List and prepare for the types of emergencies and disasters most likely to occur in their area
  • Develop an emergency plan for their child care center
  • Identify and learn how to communicate with local emergency responders
